Artist’s Bio
Carole May Coty is an adventurous artist who is filled with passion for life,nature, and expressing herself creatively. She was born and raised in Ontario, worked and advanced in the corporate world for several years, and accepted a job transfer to western Canada in 1987. In 1992 she opted to leave this lucrative work to develop her creative potential and further her formal education, and attended John F. Kennedy University in Orinda, CA, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies, psychology major, in 1995.
Carole May is enthusiastic about art and painting. She is mainly self taught and has attended workshops with many accomplished teachers such as Francis Alty-Arscott, Robert Genn, Brent Laycock, Brian Atyeo, Jean Pederson, and mike Svob. As well, she has completed many classes in the Fine Arts certificate program at the University of Alberta. She enjoys working with watercolours and acrylics and looks forward to learning much about her latest interest, en plein air painting with oils. She is committed to expressing her own unique, artistic voice.
Carole May is represented by The Candler Gallery, in Camrose, The Art Beat Gallery, in St. Albert, The Gallery On Main in Lacombe, and Infinite Ideas in Beaumont. She also exhibits her artwork in shows associated with the art groups to which she belongs. You may reach her at cmcoty@shaw.ca
Artist’s Statement
My desire is to contribute beauty and joy to the world by means of my artistic expression. By trusting the Infinite to guide me as I paint, I tune into and allow the flow of Inspiration to move through me and express as my artwork. I believe nature is awesome and my desire is to touch the heart and soul of the viewer by means of my artistic expressions of nature.
